Greenies and the Woodwork

It’s amazing who comes out of the woodwork when the greenies arrive. I’m referring, of course, to green coffee beans. :)

It’s been about a week and a half since I received my latest shipment of beans from Sweet Maria’s. I got 2# of Sulawesi because I remembered how much I liked that syrupy goodness from my sampler pack. I got 2# of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, because I was curious about it (and because it was organic…). And, I got 1# of Timorese coffee…mostly because I couldn’t resist. It was such an exotic thought getting coffee from such a small island…

Anyway, of the five pounds, I now have a little over two left. Some (COUGH Tegeder) demanded a taste; some liked the stuff I sent them last time, so I thought I’d send them a real treat now that I know what I’m doing a little better; and some needed proof that this homeroasting business wasn’t silly. :)

I may seem like I’m bitching, but it really doesn’t bother me. It’ll be worth it to me if some of these people come to appreciate the richness of this world like I’m beginning to. It’s hard to believe that $25 in parts can get you up and running with the easiest of homeroast setups…
